Reason:

This error indicates one or more of the following:

• Media error
• Hardware error
• Bad connection

Action:

Check the following:

• Check the Tape Server Messages topic and follow the instructions for media or hardware errors. Check the Tape Related Errors Help topic.
• Clean the tape heads. Power the drive off and then on.
• Check cable connections and ensure that both ends of the SCSI bus are terminated.
