Reason:

The tape data has not been arranged to a pre-defined format.

Action:

Check the following:

• Check to see if there is a tape in the tape drive
• The tape may be damaged. See the media error Help topic.
• There may be hardware problems with the tape drive. Try to clean tape heads. Power off and then power on the computer.
• Check the cables, and verify both ends of the SCSI bus are terminated.
