Reason:

This error indicates one or more of the following:

• There is no tape in the drive
• A media error
• Hardware error

Action:

For each of the causes, check the following:

1. Verify that there is a tape in the drive
2. Check to see if the tape is damaged.
3. Look under the section titled TAPESVR.NLM messages and follow the instructions in that section for media errors.
4. Check the media errors Help topic.
5. Check the Tape Server Messages topic and follow the instructions for media or hardware errors. Check the Tape Related Errors Help topic.
