Error 0234
Error logging into Directory Services [NetWare error code]
Module:
Scheduler
Reason:
BrightStor ARCserve Backup could not log into the host server to start the job. There can be many causes for this error:
- An invalid user name or password is being used.
- The concurrent connection limitation has been reached.
- Station restrictions exist.
- Time restrictions exist.
- The host server is not responding to a BrightStor ARCserve Backup request to log on. The NetWare SET REPLY TO GET NEAREST SERVER command is OFF.
- The maximum number of connections has been used on the remote server.
Action:
To address any of these causes, perform the following:
- Use NWADMIN, or NETADMIN to verify that the user name exists.
- Use NWADMIN or NETADMIN to check the maximum concurrent connection limitations, time restrictions, and station restrictions. If the server's node address is included in the Station Restrictions list, delete it and enter the server's internal IPX address as listed in the AUTOEXEC.NCF.
- At the server, enter the command: SET REPLY TO GET NEAREST SERVER=ON
- At the server, enter the command: SET ALLOW UNENCRYPTED PASSWORDS=ON
- At the server, enter the command: LOAD MONITOR
- Select Connection Information to view the active connections. You may have reached the maximum number allowed under your NetWare license.
