Reason:

The media could not be positioned correctly, causing the job to fail. The positioning failed because a media- or drive-related error occurred while positioning media or because an internal media server-specific error occurred while positioning the media. For example, if the media server encounters an invalid state, media positioning fails.

Action:

Check the Activity Log and TAPE.LOG for media- and drive-related errors on the media server. For information on troubleshooting media- and drive-related errors, click here. Check the Tape, Job, and Activity Logs for more information. In a SAN environment, check the TAPE.LOG on both the primary and distributed servers for more information. Ensure that the Activity Log and TAPE.LOG are available.
