1. What are Orchestria APM Content Services?

Orchestria APM Content Services enable you to:

  • Search and analyze your captured data, identifying patterns that were not previously discernible.
  • Train content agents to intelligently detect particular types of document. You can then incorporate these agents into capture and control triggers in user policies.

Before you can perform these tasks, however, you must import captured data from your CMS into an Orchestria APM Content database. You can then use Content Search feature in Orchestria APM to search the database for events. You can also use the captured data in the Content database to train Content Agents. To import data into the Content database, you use the Orchestria APM Content Indexer utility.

2. FAST-based Content Services

Orchestria APM Content Services can integrate with FAST Data Search. FAST Data Search is an integrated software application that provides powerful information search and retrieval technologies for integration into the existing IT environments of large organizations.

i  The Content Services features use technology under license from FAST. However, licensing for Content Services is covered by your Orchestria APM license. If you experience any problems using Content Services, please contact the Orchestria Service Desk: http://support.orchestria.com.

3. Requirements

The Content Services features are designed to run on Microsoft Windows 2003 Server.

4. What is on the CD?

This CD contains all the software you need to deploy FAST-based Content Services to your Orchestria APM installation.

4.1 'Instream' folder

This folder contains the InStream 4.3 setup program for installing and configuring generic FAST host machines. These FAST machines are able to process documents and queries arriving from an external source, but require further configuration to integrate with Orchestria APM.

i  InStream is an OEM version of FAST Data Search.

4.2 'FastDocs' folder

This folder contains a range of FAST technical publications, provinding detailed documenation of the FAST components and services.

4.3 'Software' folder

This folder contains the installation wizard for deploying the subsystem components for the Content Proxy Server and Content Indexer that enable Orchestria APM to communicate with a Content Database.

  • Content Proxy Support: This enables Orchestria APM consoles to access the Content database when searching for captured data and training content agents.
  • Content Indexer Support: This enables you to index captured data from your CMS into a Content database. You can install this utility on any machine in your Orchestria APM installation. It includes the Orchestria APM Content Indexer service. This service can monitor your CMS for newly captured data and index specified data into your Content database.

i  For FAST-based content services, the content database equates to the search index, installed by the InStream setup program (see above).

i  You must also install the Content Proxy Server and Content Indexer components that interact with the Orchestria APM infrastructure. These components are available when you run the Orchestria APM server installation wizard. See section 5 for further information.
