This service pack is cumulative, as is this readme. Information related specifically to this service pack has been identified separately from information originally included in the release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5. For information included in the release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5, see the sections following the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 Readme section.

2.0 Operating System Support

The following sections provide information about supported operating systems.

For information originally released with BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 and included in this release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1, see the section Operating System Support for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5.

2.1 Base Product Operating System Support

You can run BrightStor ARCserve Backup on the following operating systems:

2.2 Disk Staging Option

You can use the BrightStor® ARCserve® Backup Disk Staging Option on the following operating systems:

2.3 Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server

The following section provides information about the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server.

2.4 Client Information for the Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server

The agent supports Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) SP1 for Linux.

2.5 Server Information for the Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server

You must have BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 installed to support the agent. You can run BrightStor ARCserve Backup on the operating systems listed in the section Base Product Operating System Support.

In addition to the supported Linux platforms, the agent can be used with the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for UNIX r11.5 SP1 server component.

2.6 Supported Operating Systems for the Client Agent for UNIX

The supported operating systems for the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Client Agent for UNIX have been updated for this service pack to add the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Agent for FreeBSD. The agent now supports the following:

3.0 System Requirements

The following sections provide system requirements for BrightStor ARCserve Backup.

For information originally released with BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 and included in this release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1, see the section System Requirements for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5.

3.1 BrightStor ARCserve Backup Base Product System Requirements

On the server, BrightStor ARCserve Backup requires, at minimum, the following:

500 MHz CPU
256 MB RAM
400 MB free disk space on the BrightStor ARCserve Backup installation file system
5 MB free disk space (temporary on /var file systems)

3.2 Clustering Software Support

BrightStor ARCserve Backup is supported on NEC CLUSTERPRO/ExpressCluster Version 3.1 SE and LE clustering software in English and Japanese only.

3.3 Disk Staging Option

On the server, the Disk Staging Option requires, at minimum, the following:

500 MHz CPU
256 MB RAM
300 MB free disk space on the BrightStor ARCserve Backup installation file system
5 MB free disk space (temporary on /var file systems)

3.4 Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server System Requirements

The following section provides information about the system requirements for the Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server.

On the client, the agent must be installed on an Open Enterprise Server for Linux machine with 25 MB free disk space.
In addition, Novell recommends the following as the system requirements for Open Enterprise Server:
- Server-class computer
- Pentium* II processor (recommended: Pentium 4 at 1.5 GHz)
- 512 MB RAM minimum (recommended: 1 GB)

3.5 Agent for Lotus Domino System Requirements

You can now use the BrightStor® ARCserve® Backup Agent for Lotus Domino on Lotus Domino 7.0. However, DB2 cannot be enabled when using the agent on Lotus Domino 7.0.

4.0 Installation Considerations

The following sections provide information to consider when installing BrightStor ARCserve Backup.

For information originally released with BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 and included in this release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1, see the section Installation Considerations for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5.

4.1 BrightStor ARCserve Backup Base Product Installation Considerations

The following section provides information to consider when installing BrightStor ARCserve Backup on the server:

Because this release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup does not support UTF-8 encoding for Japanese, if you use, at minimum, Japanese Red Hat Enterprise Server version 4, we recommend that you change your locale to EUC before installing this release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup.
We strongly recommend that you do not configure file system devices in volumes that contain the BrightStor ARCserve Backup installation directory. When the installation directory and file system devices are on the same volume and the disk becomes full, backup jobs fail and BrightStor ARCserve Backup may not be able to record information in the Activity log.
If the disk becomes full in the volume, increase the amount of free disk space as soon as possible.

4.2 Security Enhanced Linux Installation Considerations

If you install BrightStor ARCserve Backup in a Security Enhanced Linux environment (for example, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0) when the SELinux feature is enabled and you do not use the default installation path, do not start BrightStor ARCserve Backup after you run csetup. You must run the following script, located in /sp1/util/ on the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1 CD or in util/ in the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1 downloadable upgrade package:

4.3 Install or Upgrade to BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 as a Cluster-aware Application

To install BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 as a cluster-aware application, or to upgrade from BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 to BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 on NEC CLUSTERPRO/ExpressCluster on Linux, you can install BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 directly, using the installation procedures in the cluster appendix of the Administrator Guide in the following sequence:

Install BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 on the primary cluster node.
Install BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 on the secondary cluster nodes.

Alternatively, you can perform the following steps:

Install BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 on the primary cluster node using the installation procedure in the cluster appendix of the Administrator Guide.
Install BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 on the secondary cluster nodes using the installation procedure in the cluster appendix of the Administrator Guide.
Remove all BrightStor ARCserve Backup services from monitoring by the cluster to avoid failover occurring during the installation of the service pack.
Upgrade to BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 on the primary cluster node using the installation procedure for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1.
Stop all BrightStor ARCserve Backup services on the primary cluster node.
Fail the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Cluster Group over to the secondary cluster nodes to continue installing the service pack on those nodes.
Upgrade to BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 on the secondary cluster nodes using the installation procedure for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1.
Stop all BrightStor ARCserve Backup services on the secondary cluster nodes.
Reinstate the monitoring of all BrightStor ARCserve Backup services by the cluster.

Important! You cannot install BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 on the primary cluster node and then upgrade the primary cluster node to BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 and then install BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 and upgrade to BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP1 on the secondary cluster nodes.

4.4 Install BrightStor ARCserve Backup as a Cluster-aware Application on Security Enhanced Linux

To install and configure BrightStor ARCserve Backup as a cluster-aware application in Security Enhanced Linux environments (such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0), perform the following procedure on all physical nodes in the cluster:

Install BrightStor ARCserve Backup using the cluster-aware installation instructions in the appendix Supporting NEC CLUSTERPRO/ExpressCluster Clusters in the Administrator Guide.
Do not start BrightStor ARCserve Backup after you run csetup on the primary node of the cluster.
Run the following script, located in /sp1/util/ on the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1 CD or in util/ in the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1 downloadable upgrade package:

cahttpd_chcon
```
Fail the group BABGroup over to the secondary node of the cluster, and run the following script:
```
cahttpd_chcon
```
Repeat this step on all secondary cluster nodes.
Configure the group BABGroup using the Trekking Tool and the instructions in the appendix Supporting NEC CLUSTERPRO/ExpressCluster Clusters in the Administrator Guide.

4.5 Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server Installation Considerations

The following section provides information regarding the installation of the agent:

To install the agent on Novell OES for Linux, you must have, at minimum, the rpm version novell-sms-1.1.3 -15.
The agent can be installed from either the CD or the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1 patch.
We strongly recommend that you visit the Novell website to download and install the latest available version of novell-sms RPM on your Novell Open Enterprise Server for Linux installation before using the agent.
The agent is not supported on Korean-language systems, and has not been translated into Korean. Although the agent is supported on Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese-language systems, it has not been translated into Japanese, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese.

5.0 General Considerations

The following sections provide general information to consider when using BrightStor ARCserve Backup.

For information originally released with BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 and included in this release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1, see the section General Considerations for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5.

5.1 Base Product Considerations

The following section provides general information to consider when using the base product:

If you use the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux server with the Client Agent for Windows and you have changed the default setting of the WRITE_CATALOG_FILE value to False, Windows agent files with pathnames longer than 500 bytes may not display correctly after you merge the session. However, this does not affect the success of Restore by Session or Restore by Filesystem operations.
When a job starts, it attempts to reserve a free device group. If all groups are occupied, the job remains active indefinitely and continues to try to reserve a group (this typically occurs in SAN environments).
To manually set a maximum time for the reserve operation (after which the job is cancelled), add the following line to the cprocess.cfg file and set a timeout limit, in minutes:
```
GROUP_SELECTION_TIMEOUT = number
```

5.2 Agent for Oracle Considerations

The following section provides general information to consider when using the agent:

The Agent for Oracle has been updated to remove the requirement to supply the correct host name when registering Agent for Oracle nodes in the BrightStor ARCserve Backup database.

5.3 Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server Considerations

The following section provides general information to consider when using the agent:

The agent is supported on BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1 and BrightStor® ARCserve® Backup for UNIX r11.5 SP1.

5.4 Use USB FDDs with the Disaster Recovery Option

The following procedures allow you to use a USB Floppy Disk Drive (FDD) with the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux Disaster Recovery Option.

5.5 Create an Emergency Data Disk

To use a USB FDD to create an emergency data disk, perform the following procedure:

From the command prompt, invoke $BAB_HOME/data/DRmkdisk.
When prompted with the question 'Should the Emergency Data be written to floppy or an alternate medium,' enter 'a' for alternate medium.
When prompted 'Enter the device path to the alternate media device file,' enter the complete path of the USB FDD (for example, /dev/sdc).

5.6 Perform Disaster Recovery

To use a USB FDD to recover from disaster, perform the following procedure:

Connect the USB FDD to the system being recovered.
Boot using the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux Disaster Recovery Option CD.
Note: To reduce boot up time, remove any floppy disk inserted in the USB FDD during the initial boot up stage.
When the keyboard map dialog appears, make the appropriate selection and insert the floppy disk into the USB FDD.
When the disaster recovery interface prompts you to provide the mount point for the location of emergency data, click the Console button to open a terminal window and mount the USB floppy disk. Use the USB FDD device path and an appropriate mount location to mount the USB FDD (for example, mount /dev/sdc /mnt/floppy).
Close the terminal window using the Exit command.
Provide the correct mount point (for example, /mnt/floppy) to continue the recovery process.

6.0 Known Issues

The following sections provide information about issues known to exist in this release.

6.1 Known Issues for the Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server

The following section provides information about issues related to the Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server known to exist in this release:

Because of the design of TSAFS, the Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server always preserves the Access Time for NSS volumes.
Due to a known issue with the Novell SMS RPM, when you back up certain files (for example, shared objects or binary files) currently loaded or active and residing on traditional Linux file systems, the backup operation may fail. To address this problem, on the File Retry/Sharing tab of the Backup Options dialog, set the Backup Mode to Read Only. Alternatively, check the Novell website for the latest version of SMS RPM.

6.2 Known Issues for the Disaster Recovery Option

The following section provides information about issues related to the Disaster Recovery Option known to exist in this release:

The option does not support recovery of Security Enhanced Linux information. If you recover a Security Enhanced Linux environment, the directories and the files lose the Security Enhanced Linux attribute. This does not influence other attributes supported by the Disaster Recovery Option.

7.0 Documentation Changes

The following section provides information about items that have not yet been changed in the product documentation, but that affect the information in that documentation:

Although the tapecopy command now supports copying Novell Open Enterprise Server sessions, the tapecopy section of the appendix "Using Command Line Utilities" in the Administrator Guide does not currently reflect this support. The Administrator Guide provides the following information for the tapecopy command option -qType <backup session type>:

The Supporting NEC CLUSTERPRO/ExpressCluster Clusters appendix in the Administrator Guide should contain the following information:
When you configure file system devices in a cluster environment, you must locate these devices only on shared or mirrored disks to allow them to be available after failover.
In the Administrator Guide, the online help, and the manpages, the ca_dbadmin example for the -gen_script option is incorrect. Currently, the definition contains the following:
"For example: sqlingres <maintain_script.sql>"
This should be changed to the following:
"For example: sqlingres <maintain_script.sql"
The section "The sbt.cfg Parameter File" in the Agent for Oracle Guide appendix "Understanding the agent.cfg File and the sbt.cfg Parameter File" contains the following information about the SBT_ORIGINAL_CLIENT_HOST parameter:
SBT_ORIGINAL_CLIENT_HOST <host name>-When restoring data from one host to another, this parameter specifies the name of the original client host.
This item should be amended as follows:
SBT_ORIGINAL_CLIENT_HOST <host name>-When restoring data from one host to another, this parameter specifies the name of the original client host, the source of the files to be used in the current restore.
In addition, the following parameter should be added to the list of parameters in the sbt.cfg Parameter File section:
SBT_SOURCE_NAME <source name>- When backing up data, this parameter specifies the client name of the Agent for Oracle machine registered with the BrightStor ARCserve Backup server. This parameter can override the host name in the SBT module.

8.0 International Support

An internationalized product is an English product that runs correctly on local language versions of the required operating system and required third-party products, and supports local language data for input and output. Internationalized products also support the ability to specify local language conventions for date, time, currency, and number formats.

A translated product (sometimes referred to as a localized product) is an internationalized product that includes local language support for the product's user interface, online help and other documentation, as well as local language default settings for date, time, currency, and number formats.

BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1 has been internationalized and translated into the following languages, in addition to the English release (with the exception of the Agent for Novell Open Enterprise Server, which has not been internationalized or translated into Korean, and has been internationalized, but not translated, into Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese):

9.0 Documentation

Each PDF guide in a documentation set has a unique Document ID (DID) that appears on the title page of the guide. The DID uses the first six characters to identify the guide, a hyphen, then two characters at the end to identify the edition and language in which it is written. For example, D01209-2E identifies the second edition of the English version of the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux Release Summary. If a third edition of this guide is published, the DID is incremented to D01209-3E. The DID is used without the hyphen for the .PDF file on the product media and on SupportConnect as shown in Filename column of the following table.

12.2 OEM Edition for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5

If you have received Computer Associates BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 OEM Edition, not all of the sections in this Readme file apply. This edition provides comprehensive backup and restore protection for a single server.

The full version of BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 includes the BrightStor ARCserve Backup family of agents and options to enhance functionality, extend support to additional remote servers, and provide the ability to leverage automated hardware devices. These agents and options are not included in the OEM Edition. The following section provides information to consider when installing BrightStor ARCserve Backup and its agents and options:

Remote installation and silent installation of the client agents for Windows 98 and Windows Me are not supported in the Master Setup.
Any Oracle job already submitted in the BrightStor ARCserve Backup queue before you upgrade must be removed and recreated. These jobs do not work with the newer version of the Agent for Oracle. This includes any job containing at least one Oracle instance backup.
Because this release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup does not support UTF-8 encoding for Japanese, if you use, at minimum, Japanese Red Hat Enterprise Server version 4, we recommend that you change your locale to EUC before installing this release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup.

16.0 General Considerations for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5

The following section provides general information to consider when using BrightStor ARCserve Backup and its agents or options:

By default, online backup is not supported for VMWare virtual disk files on VMware ESX servers. Some scripts are available to make this possible. Contact Computer Associates for information about these scripts.
Cross-platform management is supported only on the Agent for Oracle, Agent for Informix, and Agent for Sybase.

16.1 Agent for Oracle Considerations

The following section provides information to consider when using the Agent for Oracle:

The Restore by Media and Restore by Session options are not supported for this release.

Because of a requirement imposed by Oracle, you must add the following to the Common Agent configuration file, agent.cfg, on Red Hat Linux 3.0:

Although the Disk Staging Option has been added to BrightStor ARCserve Backup, child jobs generated by RMAN use the full backup staging policy. You cannot currently extend incremental or differential staging policies to the child jobs generated by RMAN, although this functionality is expected to be included in a future release.

17.0 Known Issues for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5

Note: For information added to BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 and released with BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1, see the section Known Issues.

The following sections provide information about issues and limitations known to exist in BrightStor ARCserve Backup for this release.

17.1 Base Product Known Issues

The following issues relating to the BrightStor ARCserve Backup base product are known to exist in this release:

Restore by Media is not supported for database restore operations. During restore jobs that include database sessions, the server skips these sessions and reports that they were skipped in the Activity log.
Due to a known issue for IA64 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 Update 4 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, backing up the /var/log/lastlog file can take a very long time, seriously affecting backup performance. Because of the nature and size of this file, we recommend that you exclude this file from your backup operations.
Due to a known issue with SuSE Linux and Mozilla, under certain circumstances, you may experience difficulty in printing reports from the Report Manager. You may receive the message "No Print Service found" even if printers are connected properly to your system.
When BrightStor ARCserve Backup is running, stopping and restarting the Database Service (cadbd) may cause problems with the Queue Service (caqd) and in the GUI. To address this issue, after the Database Service recycles, recycle the Queue Service and restart any open managers.

17.2 Agent for Lotus Domino Known Issues

The following issues related to the Agent for Lotus Domino are known to exist in this release:

The Smart Restore functionality is not supported for the Agent for Lotus Domino.
Backup with Compare is not supported on Agent for Lotus Domino sessions.

17.3 Agent for MySQL Known Issues

The following issues related to the Agent for MySQL are known to exist in this release:

The Smart Restore functionality is not supported for the Agent for MySQL.
The agent has a session password limitation of 15 bytes. Avoid using session passwords longer than 15 bytes when backing up MySQL sessions.
Backup with Compare is not supported on Agent for MySQL sessions.

17.4 Agent for Oracle Known Issues

The following issues related to the Agent for Oracle are known to exist in this release:

You cannot back up multiple Oracle instances in the same job.
You cannot mix Oracle instance backups and other backup types (for example, file system backup or any other database type backup).
This release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup cannot restore data backed up with the BrightStor^® ARCserve^® Backup version 9.0 Agent for Oracle.
Merge operations on file system devices containing Oracle backup sessions are not supported for this release. However, merge operations with tapes containing Oracle backup sessions are successful.
The agent does not support session passwords.
Backup with Compare is not supported on Agent for Oracle sessions.

17.5 Known Issues for the Disaster Recovery Option

The following issues affecting the Disaster Recovery Option are known to exist in BrightStor ARCserve Backup for this release:

The Disaster Recovery Option recovers only BrightStor format media. When you perform a full backup for disaster recovery purposes, do not change the media format to Posix tar format or Posix cpio format.
Due to LVM2 limitations, the Disaster Recovery Option cannot recreate the following if they were originally created using LVM1:
- More than 255 Logical Volumes in a single volume group
- Snapshot Volumes or Logical Volumes named "snapshot"
- Logical Volumes with FAT/MSDOS file systems
The option does not support recovery from auto-loaders, changers, or tape libraries. However, you can recover a system if the backup tape is loaded from the slot to the drive either manually or from the server using mtx. For more information, enter mtx help.

17.6 Known Issues for the NDMP NAS Option

The following issues related to the NDMP NAS Option are known to exist in this release:

If you are using a tape that was formatted using an older version of the option (earlier than BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.1), you must reformat the tape using the updated NDMP NAS Option to be compatible with other BrightStor ARCserve Backup tape formats before you can add sessions to the tape.
Note: You can still restore backed up sessions from tapes formatted with older versions of the option.
The option does not support the merging of multiplexing formatted tape in a NAS environment using the NAS-attached device.
The option does not support Custom Incremental and Custom Differential backup methods.
The NDMP NAS Option for UNIX cannot merge tapes formatted with the NDMP NAS Option for Windows.

17.7 Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres Known Issues

The following issues related to the Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres are known to exist in this release:

The Smart Restore functionality is not supported for the Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres.
Backup with Compare is not supported on Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres sessions.
For any Advantage Ingres database, before you submit its first rotation backup job, we strongly recommend that you perform a checkpoint of that database either by executing the Advantage Ingres ckpdb utility, as described in the Advantage Ingres documentation, or by running a full backup of the database using BrightStor ARCserve Backup.

17.8 Enterprise Option for SAP R3 for Oracle Known Issues

The following issues related to the Enterprise Option for SAP R3 for Oracle are known to exist in this release:

The Smart Restore functionality is not supported for the Enterprise Option for SAP R3 for Oracle.
Backup with Compare is not supported on Enterprise Option for SAP R3 for Oracle sessions.

17.9 Known Issues for BrightStor Portal Integration

The following issues relating to the integration of BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 with BrightStor^® Portal r11.1 are known to exist in this release:

If you plan to use the BrightStor Portal to manage and report on BrightStor ARCserve Backup, you must ensure that you have applied the latest patches for BrightStor Portal r11.1. These patches are available at http://supportconnect.ca.com. For more information, see the iGateway and iSponsor readme documentation included with this release.
After you install the BrightStor Portal, you must update the iGateway on the portal server to iGateway 4.0.
The current iGateway and iSponsor release does not support 64-bit systems. Therefore, the BrightStor Portal Integration tool is not supported on x86-64-bit systems and IA-64-bit systems.
The current iGateway and iSponsor release is supported on the following Linux platforms:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 (ES, AS)
- SuSE Enterprise Server 8 SP3, 9.0
The BrightStor Portal Integration tool is not supported on other Linux platforms.

Some of the changes that had been listed in this section for the release of BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 have been merged into the documentation released with BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 SP1.

The following section provides information about items that have not yet been changed in the product documentation, but that affect the information in that documentation:

In the Getting Started guide, the section Backward Compatibility lists the versions of BrightStor ARCserve Backup and BrightStor Enterprise Backup with which this release is compatible. This list should include BrightStor Enterprise Backup version 10.0.
The Administrator Guide and the online help state that you can define staging policies that direct BrightStor ARCserve Backup to create a makeup job on Hold or back up directly to tape if an exceeds threshold condition occurs. This statement should indicate that you can define staging policies that direct BrightStor ARCserve Backup to create a makeup job to back up directly to tape if an exceeds threshold condition occurs or to create a makeup job on Hold if a data migration failure occurs.
The Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres Guide should contain the following information:
You can set the size of the Ingresd.log file in the agent.cfg file. To do so, enter one of the following variables to the agent.cfg file:
CA_ENV_LOG_MAX_SIZE: The maximum log size when writing normal execution messages. Enter an integer value representing the number of bytes of the file. The default value is 20 MB.
CA_ENV_DBGLOG_MAX_SIZE: The maximum log size when writing debug level messages. Enter an integer value representing the number of bytes of the file. The default value is 200 MB.
In the Raw Data Locations section of the chapter Backing Up Databases, and in the Best Practices chapter, the Enterprise Option for Advantage Ingres Guide states in error that you can use RAW data locations. These are not supported by Advantage Ingres.
The Restoring Data chapter of the Administrator Guide states that BrightStor ARCserve Backup provides three methods to select the files to restore. This statement should indicate that there are four methods of source selection, and the subsequent section should provide the following information:
Restore by Tree-Restores a specific directory or drive from a display of files and directories that were backed up with BrightStor ARCserve Backup. Use this method when you do not know which media contains the data you need, but you know the machine from which the back up originated.
The Restore by Tree view displays only the last instance of a backup. To view and access all other instances, select the object that you want to restore and click the Version History button. If there are multiple partial backups of the same drive, the Restore by Tree view displays only the last backup. However, if there is a full volume backup of the drive available, the last full backup is displayed, instead of the last partial backup.
For example, if a drive contains two directories that were backed up on April 21 and April 28, and if a full backup of the drive was performed on April 1, only the April 1 backup appears in the Restore Manager.
To restore the April 28 instance of one of the directories, select the directory in the Restore by Tree view and click Version History. From the Version History dialog, select the April 28 instance and click Select.
The Restore by Tree view uses the BrightStor ARCserve Backup database; if the database engine is stopped, this method is not available.

BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux r11.5 has been internationalized and translated into the following languages, in addition to the English release:

20.0 Documentation for BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5

Each PDF guide in a documentation set has a unique Document ID (DID) that appears on the title page of the guide. The DID uses the first six characters to identify the guide, a hyphen, then two characters at the end to identify the edition and language in which it is written. For example, D01209-1E identifies the first edition of the English version of the BrightStor ARCserve Backup for Linux Release Summary. The DID for the second edition of this guide is incremented to D01209-2E. The DID is used without the hyphen for the .PDF file on the product media and on SupportConnect as shown in Filename column of the following table.
