1.0 Welcome

Before you start using Advantage VISION:Builder r15, please review this document for important additional information to help you with your implementation of this product.


2.0 Operating System Support

Advantage VISION:Builder r15 was developed and tested on the IBM z/OS 1.4 operating system.


3.0 System Requirements

Advantage VISION:Builder r15 operates on IBM or compatible hosts. The development and testing on this operating system also included:

  • z/OS V1R4 SMP/E (Maintenance Level 31.18)
  • z/OS V1R4 Language environment (LE)
  • z/OS V1R4 TSO/E
  • IMS V8.1 DB (required if you are using IMS)
  • DB2 UDB for z/OS V8.1 (required if you are using DB2)

4.0 Installation Considerations

Advantage VISION:Builder r15 uses standard SMP/E processing for installation and maintenance. Advantage Builder r15 also utilizes the Computer Associates License Management Program (CA-LMP for license management).


5.0 General Considerations

6.0 Documentation Changes

The main changes to the documentation are the descriptions of the new enhancements. For more information, see the Release Summary.


7.0 Known Issues

8.0 Contents of CD-ROM

The CD supplied with Advantage VISION: Builder r15 contains all documents in Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) format. The books and related file folders included on the CD are:

  • This Readme File
  • Documents folder containing:
    • Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) Table of Contents file (Advantage_VISION_Builder_Bookshelf.PDF), which lists all Advantage VISION:Builder r15 book titles
    • Advantage VISION:Builder r15 books in PDF format.
  • Support_Files folder containing Acrobat file, AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe, needed to install the Adobe Acrobat Reader with search capabilities.

If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat Reader, and you would like to view the documents in PDF format, please install it by using the AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe file in the Support_Files folder.
