Install the Product

The installation procedure provided for CA XCOM Gateway r11.5 can be used to install any combination of the following components:

• CA XCOM Gateway
• CA XCOM Interface Server—a required component that enables CA XCOM Gateway to interact with CA XCOM Data Transport to permit distribution of gateway files across the CA XCOM Data Transport network
• Apache FTP Server—an optional component that is required to upload and download gateway files using FTP
• CA Embedded Entitlements Manager (EEM)—a required component that enables CA XCOM Gateway to perform user authentication during user login processing

To install CA XCOM Gateway

1. Ensure that you have a copy of the appropriate JDBC connector driver according to whether you want the installed product components to use a DB2 or MySQL database.

   Note: For MySQL, you require MySQL Connector/J, the official JDBC driver for MySQL. You can download this .jar file from the MySQL website at www.MySQL.com.

2. Stop your JBoss server.
3. Ensure that you have administrator privileges on your computer.
4. Depending on the operating system, take one of the following actions to launch the installer:
   1. (Windows) Double-click the Install.exe file.

      This file is contained on the product CD or can be downloaded from the CA Support website.

   2. (UNIX and Linux) Issue the command sh install.bin.
5. Follow the dialogs referencing additional information and complete the installation process.

   The product is installed.

6. Restart JBoss.
7. Access the CA XCOM Gateway website and review the global parameters. If necessary, update the values.

   Note: Although the installer has initialized many parameters, several others need to be set manually after installation.
