Policy Configuration

In this release, CA Virtual Assurance supports the following features:

Layered Templates Support

Layered templates allow you to apply additional monitoring on top of a SystemEDGE configuration, without the need to import them into a policy. The templates can be applied as layers to the base policy, without the need to apply the base policy. Templates can be applied at the individual server or service level. Control settings like community or port remain with base policy. When templates are applied, Policy Configuration combines templates and base policy into a sysedge.cf file for a specific server. Templates allow key configuration items including:

• Threshold monitors
• Process and Process Group monitors
• Log file monitors
• History monitors
• MIB extensions

Import of SystemEDGE 5.x configurations

After upgrading SystemEDGE 5.x from unmanaged to managed, it is possible to import the previous configuration into Policy Configuration as either a template or policy
