CA Virtual Assurance provides the capability of managing the environments that it monitors and performing actions on their platforms. Data collectors control monitoring and threshold settings for all server agents. Platform Management Modules (PMMs) are web services that poll the data collectors on all managed systems using SNMP. PMMs convert all information received from the data collectors, including MIB object values and traps, into properties that fit into the CA Virtual Assurance architecture and create corresponding managed object representations in the database. Each PMM is specific to a virtual platform. To run a command, a PMM instructs its associated AIM to perform actions.
