If you create LINK rules with DAY and TIME options, directory links can be established only while the link is allowed.
For CA VM:Backup, you must have a LINK rule for user ID VMBACKUP with the NOPASS option. CA VM:Backup does not use passwords.
For earlier releases of CA VM:Backup, when CA VM:Backup is initialized with the CA VM:Backup NODIAG84 configuration file record in effect, and you want CA VM:Backup to back up minidisks that do not have minidisk link passwords, you must use the NOPASS option on the LINK rule to allow CA VM:Backup to link. With the NOPASS option, the link is granted regardless of whether a minidisk password exists.
