DIAG88 Rule

Use the DIAG88 rule to control using Diagnose X'88' subcode 8 for password phrase validation or to use the DMSPASS CSL routine. This rule is meaningful in z/VM 5.3.0 or later releases.

Diagnose code X’88’ subcode 8, issued by the DMSPASS CSL routine, or issued directly by a program, is valid whenever Password Phrase support is enabled in CA VM:Secure. An issuing server must be authorized either by using this rule, or by the specification of OPTION DIAG88 in the user directory entry.

Accepts or rejects the DIAG88 request controlled by this rule.

requester

Defines the set of requesting user IDs this rule is to govern. When specified without the GROUP option, requester is a user ID. Enter an asterisk (*) for requester to specify all user IDs. When specified with the GROUP option, requester is the name of a security group. Enter an * for requester to specify all user IDs in all security groups.
