SURROGAT authorization lets a user create, delete, suspend, and resume surrogate relationships for user IDs by using DIAGNOSE X‘D4’. This authorization is valid only if you are using the CA VM:Secure Rules Facility. You often use SURROGAT in conjunction with the DIAGPCHK authorization.
Example:
The VALIDATE program is used by some sites to verify passwords. To use this program for the FTP service virtual machine, use the following GRANT records:
GRANT SURROGAT TO FTPSERVE GRANT DIAGPCHK TO FTPSERVE
