Granting Authorizations to Restrict Commands Use To Specific Terminals (CA VM:Secure only)

You can narrow the scope of some authorizations so that they are valid only when the user ID to whom you are granting the authority uses the command on specified terminal addresses. Creating authorizations of this type provide an alternative to granting authorization by user ID.

Commands that accept terminal addresses as part of the command syntax are:

• CAN
• JOURNAL (with the LIST and RESET parameters)
• RESET (with the DEVICE parameter)
• QRULES

Example:

The following GRANT record allows WOODYB to use the RESET command with the DEVICE parameter to reset only his terminal that has an IP address of 10.0.51.4:

GRANT RESET DEVICE 10.0.51.4 TO WOODYB

Terminal addresses can be logical devices, IP addresses, network IDs, or real terminals.
