Continuous Availability of Encryption and Decryption Services

Real-time encryption processing is a critical system resource. Encryption and decryption services must be available continuously. If these services are not available in real time, you do not have immediate access to encrypted data. To ensure continuous availability, CA Tape Encryption provides failover processing to one or more secondary BES tasks. To implement failover capability, specifically configure these secondary tasks for failover processing.

Most of the time you only need to run a primary CA Tape Encryption task and one or two failover tasks.
