The parmlib is a partitioned data set with fixed or fixed block 80 byte logical records: DCB=(RECFM=FB,LRECL=80,BLKSIZE=6400,DSORG=PO). It contains one or more members, which contain the CA Tape Encryption parameters referred to as attributes. Related attributes are grouped into sections in a parmlib member.
Sample parmlib members containing the recommended settings for the CA Tape Encryption attributes can be found in the HLQ.CTAPPARM library. The following is a list of the members:
These members together comprise one complete set of all the attributes used by CA Tape Encryption. Each member contains one or more sections containing information used at startup, shutdown, or during normal operations. This information is split into multiple members to make management and maintenance easier. If desired, one or more members can be combined or all members can be combined into a single member.
CA Tape Encryption requires updates to the STARUP, DYNAMIC and SYMKEYS members in addition to a separate parmlib member IBMEKM. For information on the updates required, see CA Encryption Key Manager User Guide.
Note: All processing parameters for the SAF Interface are defined in the CA@BES security resource class.
