Install the SP Policy Server Option Pack

After installing the Policy Server, you need to install the Policy Server Option Pack.

To install the Policy Server Option Pack

  1. Install the Policy Server Option Pack.

Note: The Policy Server Option Pack requires a JRE. See the SiteMinder 6.0 Platform Support Matrix on the Technical Support site for the correct JRE version.

Be sure to import the ampolicy.smdif file during the installation; this sets up affiliate policy store objects. To verify that the import is successful, log in to the Policy Server User Interface and click on Domains in the System tab. You should see the FederationWebServices domain object.

For instructions on installing the Policy Server Option Pack, see the Policy Server, Web Agent Option Pack Release Notes.

Important! In this example, import the ampolicy.smdif file if you are setting up a new federation configuration. If you have an existing configuration, importing the ampolicy.smdif file will reset all affiliate data back to the default settings.

  2. Ensure that the NETE_JRE_ROOT environment variable is set and that it points to the JVM.
    1. Access your system’s environment variables.
    2. Locate the NETE_JRE_ROOT variable.
    3. Ensure that the installer has set it to the appropriate location of the JVM.
  3. (Optional) Enable Policy Server Trace Logging at the SP so you can use the log to troubleshoot your setup.
