If you selected the External Directory radio button in the Administrator Lookup group box, the Authentication group box appears:
The user directory that contains the administrator’s authentication information.
The configured administrator will use the login name stored in the user directory to log into the Policy Server User Interface. The Policy Server uses this directory to locate the administrator.
Authentication method the Policy Server uses when the administrator attempts to login to the Policy Server User Interface.
The list contains authentication schemes that have been configured and saved in the policy store. The Policy Server installation process only configures the Basic authentication scheme. You can configure other authentication schemes with user name and password attributes that may be used to authenticate administrators. Procedures for configuring different authentication schemes indicate whether the scheme may be used to authenticate administrators.
Note: The case-sensitivity of passwords is determined by the type of directory in which the administrator passwords are stored.
