The Action group box is where you specify the type of event and the specific action that must take place for the rule to fire:
Specifies that the rule should fire for the HTTP action or actions that you select from the clickable list that appears to the right of the radio button when this entry is selected:
Retrieves a resource for viewing via HTTP.
Supports legacy HTTP actions.
Posts information supplied by a user via HTTP.
If you have purchased TransactionMinder, two additional Web Agent rule actions are available:
Supports incoming XML messages wrapped with a SOAP envelope.
Supports incoming raw XML messages (not wrapped with a SOAP envelope.
(Present in place of Web Agent Actions for realms associated with an Affiliate Agent only). Specifies that the rule should fire for the single action available in a rule for an Affiliate Agent:
A special action for Affiliate Agents that allows a SiteMinder portal site to interact with an affiliate Web site.
Specifies that the rule should fire for the authentication event selected from the drop-down list box that appears to the right of the radio button when this entry is selected:
Occurs when a user successfully authenticates. This event may be used to redirect a user after a successful authentication
Occurs when a user fails to authenticate because no user name was supplied.
May be used in custom authentication schemes to trigger a response.
Occurs when a user that is bound to a policy fails to authenticate. The user must be bound to the policy for the rule to fire.
This event is only used to trigger Active Responses. This event should not be used to trigger any response other than an Active Response.
Specifies that the rule should fire for the authorization event selected from the drop-down list box that appears to the right of the radio button when this entry is selected
Occurs when SiteMinder successfully authorizes a user to access the resource.
Occurs when SiteMinder rejects a user because the user is not authorized to access the resource.
Specifies that the rule should fire for the impersonation event selected from the drop-down list box that appears to the right of the radio button when this entry is selected:
When included in an appropriate policy, a rule that includes this event allows an impersonation session to begin
When included in an appropriate policy, a rule that includes this event allows a set of users to be impersonated.
