Basic over SSL Scheme Prerequisites
In order to use the Basic over SSL authentication scheme, the following prerequisites must be met:
- Client user name and password information must exist in a user directory.
- A connection to the user directory must be configured using the SiteMinder User Directory dialog.
- An X.509 Server Certificate must be installed on the SSL Web server.
- The network must support an SSL connection to the client browser using the HTTPS protocol.
- A SiteMinder Web Agent must be installed on the Web server to which requests are redirected for SSL. The Web Agent enables the server to handle the .scc MIME type required by the authentication scheme. See the following sections for information about specifying the SSL server.
