SiteMinder Data Sources and Upgrades

In previous versions, upgrading the Policy Server deleted the SQL Server and Oracle wire protocol drivers. As a result, the upgrade required you to:

  1. Back up all SiteMinder data source information and delete all SiteMinder data source connections before upgrading the Policy Server.
  2. Recreate all SiteMinder data source connections using the new wire protocol drivers after upgrading the Policy Server.

These manual steps are no longer required. The Policy Server upgrade preserves data source information and connections.
