Legacy Administrator Considerations
This process applies if one or more of the following criteria are met:
- The Legacy Administrator is to manage SiteMinder objects using the:
- FSS Administrative UI
- Policy Management API
- The Legacy Administrator is to function as a Trusted Host administrator.
- The Administrative UI is using the policy store as the source for administrator identities. If the Administrative UI is using the policy store, consider the following before delegating Administrative UI privileges:
- The rights each administrator requires to perform their job. Identifying these rights can help you assign the appropriate security categories to the Legacy Administrator when delegating Administrative UI privileges.
- The number of Legacy Administrators to which the Administrative UI tasks and Policy Server tools must be distributed.
- If one or more Legacy Administrators must be responsible for application security policies.
Important! If the Administrative UI is using an external store as its source of administrator identities, a Legacy Administrator cannot use the Administrative UI to manage SiteMinder objects. If a Legacy Administrator must use the Administrative UI, be sure that the user is present in the external store and is also configured as an Administrator.
