How to Configure the Trusted Identity Provider

The Windows Identity Framework in SharePoint 2010 supports multiple authentication providers. Create a Trusted Identity Provider in SharePoint to establish runtime integration with SiteMinder Agent for SharePoint. Configuring the Trusted Identity Provider involves the following process:

  1. Copy the certificate authority certificate to the SharePoint central administration server.
  2. Copy the PowerShell script to the SharePoint central administration server.
  3. Modify the PowerShell script.
  4. (Optional) Add additional certificate authority certificates to the PowerShell script.
  5. Create the trusted identity provider.
  6. (Optional) Verify that the Trusted Identity Provider is registered.
