FAST Support

CA Service Desk Manager r12.5 (and r12.0 and r12.1) includes the FAST InStream 5.1.3 search engine component as an optional complement for Knowledge, Incident, and Problem Management use. Microsoft acquired FAST and has discontinued development and maintenance for the FAST InStream product. CA continues to offer Level-1 support for the FAST InStream component included with r12 in accordance with current CA Support Policy and Terms. This support includes assistance with installation, basic configuration, and troubleshooting use within the CA Service Desk Manager r12 environment. CA is actively investigating alternative search technologies and approaches for use with CA Service Desk Manager. Consider this information as you evaluate your use of FAST InStream with CA Service Desk Manager.

Note: Affective in June, 2010, CA will provide basic telephone support (no patches or upgrades) for the optional FAST InStream search engine included in CA Service Desk Manager r12.0, r12.1, and r12.5.
