Configuration Audit and Control Facility (CACF)
Configuration Audit and Control Facility (CACF) helps to prevent unauthorized and incorrectly executed changes and ensure that only authorized changes are allowed. CACF detects and manages rogue changes automatically to minimize user intervention. This will ensure that the authorized state stored in CMDB only contains validated CIs and attributes controlled by Change Management.
CACF provides the following updates to the CA SDM web interface:
- The Related Tickets tab displays the change specifications associated with the Configuration Item on the Configuration Item detail page and the Configuration Management tab displays the Change Specifications associated with the Change Order on the Change Order detail page. This change specification includes the verification status and the status of the related Change Order.
- The Configuration Item detail form displays messages that indicate whether changes performed in the web interface completed successfully. If unsuccessful, a warning displays and indicates the policy, attribute, and corresponding action that occurred.
- The CA CMDB Configuration Management Scoreboard displays Incidents, Change Orders, and Configuration Audit and Control reports.
- CA SDM provides new CA Business Intelligence reports that display additional information relating to the CACF system.
Note: For more information about administering CACF, see the Administration Guide.
