Specify CA Workflow Rules and Actions

Linking a process definition with one or more CA Workflow rules and actions is required to instruct CA Workflow to do the following:

To specify CA Workflow rules and actions

  1. On the CA Service Catalog home page, select Administration, Tools.

    The Event Types window appears.

  2. Select Request/Subscription Item Change in the list of event types.

    The Event Type Details for Request/Subscription Item Change appear.

  3. In the list of rules, find the rule named When Status is Submitted and Approval Process is Driven by Workflow (formerly WFAllSubmit) and ensure that it is enabled.

    If necessary, enable the rule by checking its adjacent check box and clicking the Enable button.

    This rule is enabled by default.

    Note: If you are integrating CA Service Catalog with Unicenter Service Desk r11.2, continue using the former rule and action names, both in this context and throughout your environment.   4. Click the rule named When Status is Submitted and Approval Process is Driven by Workflow, so that you can modify it.

    The Rule Details for it appear.

  5. Click Add to create a new CA Workflow action with the following specifications:
    Name

    Specify the name of your choice, preferably an intuitive name for the action you want to perform.

    Description

    Provide further details about the action you want to perform.

    Type

    Select Workflow.

    Process Definition

    Click the search icon to find and select the USM_EX_FormGetVarValue process definition from the list.

    Process Parameters

    Select the $id$ parameter.

  6. Click OK.

    The new rule action is saved, and you return to the Rule Details for Workflow Submit.

  7. Click Done.

    You return to the Event Type Details window.
