Create the Reservation Element

Earlier, you created the service option group for reserving the virtual machine. Here, you create the reservation element in that service option group. You customize the reservation element to specify the type of reservation (for example, external or Reservation Manager) and other details.

Follow these steps:

1. Select Service Builder, Service Option Groups, and click the service option group named Reserve Computer.

   The Service Option Group Definition dialog appears and displays the service option elements in the service option group.

2. Double-click the first cell in the first row.

   The Service Option Element Definition dialog appears.

3. Select Reservation in the Type drop-down list.

   The reservation-related fields appear on the Definition tab.

4. Verify that the following fields specify the values shown. Update the values, if necessary, match these specifications.

   If a field is not listed, specify a logical value of your choice

   • Display Text: Reserve Computer
   • Operation: Reserve
   • Reservation System: ca.catalog.DEMO1
5. Click the Option tab.

   The fields appear on the Definition tab.

6. Complete the fields, using the guidelines in the previous step. Specify the following values:
   • Category: Reservation
   • Category Class: External Reservation System

     This scenario is designed for use when the Category Class is External Reservation System, not CA Spectrum Automation Manager Reservation Manager. For details, see the initial topic for setting up reservation services.

   • Category Subclass: Reserve
7. Click Update.

   The Catalog system saves your changes.

You have created the reservation element.
