Medium Architecture

The medium architecture employs vertical clustering for CA Service Catalog and CA Service Accounting and horizontal clustering for CA Workflow. CA Service Catalog and CA Service Accounting clustering is provided through Service View clustering), as explained in Key Terms and Concepts.

The medium architecture is well suited to handling a load of up to 10 catalog requests per minute. A load balancer (Server W0) is required for both the CA Service Catalog and CA Workflow clusters; an existing instance may be used.

The medium architecture includes one clustered server for CA Service Catalog and CA Service Accounting, one clustered server for CA Workflow, two load balancer servers, and the database server

Two servers, V1 and V2, are deployed in a vertical cluster, and thus they are both installed on the same physical computer. Both V1 and V2 run CA Service Catalog and CA Service Accounting.

CA Workflow is installed in a horizontal cluster on two servers, W1 and W2.

Two load balancers, V0 and W0, are used as front ends to the Service View and CA Workflow clusters, respectively.

Note: V0 and W0 can be the same computer.

For more information about clustering and load balancing, see Key Terms and Concepts and the chapter "Clustering."
