Discover a System: Agentless

You can discover agentless systems and retrieve basic information such as host name and operating system using the default, ping sweep discovery method. Ping sweep requires that credentials are configured for the Network Discovery Gateway server. To gather additional hardware details on agentless systems, such as MAC address, CPU count, CPU speed, hardware classification, Memory size, select Enhanced Discovery. For enhanced discovery, configure the credentials for the Network Discovery Gateway Service Account.

Note: Selecting Enhanced Discovery increases discovery time.

Note: CA Server Automation discovery requires hostname resolution. If the IP address for a discovered server changes, CA Server Automation does not automatically resolve the IP address. As a result, the discovery profile fails to update the Management DB. If the IP address changes, rediscover the server.
