Optional Software for CA Server Automation

You can install the following optional CA software for CA Server Automation to enable integration functionality:

CA Configuration Automation

Version 12.5.SP1 is required for change and configuration management.

CA ITCM, formerly CA Desktop and Server Management (CA DSM)

Release 12.5 is required for all server and software provisioning.

Note: CA Server Automation requires a CA ITCM 12.5 instance with the following patches applied in the order specified: RO19193, RO25187, RO28174, RO28697, RO28698, T5J1146, RO31086, RO25188, and RO35411.

SystemEDGE

The installation program installs SystemEDGE 5.6.0 if it is not already on your system. SystemEDGE is required for the CA Server Automation AIMs. AIMs are functional extensions to the SystemEDGE agent.

SystemEDGE Releases 4.3.4, 4.3.5, 4.3.6, 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2, and 5.1.0 are still supported for managing remote servers in your environment.

CA Process Automation

Version 3.1 or 3.1 SP1 (localized) release is required to create process automation workflows that use CA Server Automation functionality.

The public version of JRE 1.5 or later is required to run the CA Process Automation installation program.

CA Network and Systems Management (CA NSM)

Release 11.1 or 11.2 is required to collect performance metrics using the CA NSM Performance Agent.

CA Service Desk Manager

Release 12.5, or 12.6 is required to open help desk tickets.

NetApp DataFabric Manager server (DFM)

NetApp DataFabric Manager server version 4.0 (with NetApp Operations, Provisioning, and Protection Managers) is required to provide Storage Provisioning Manager functionality through integration with NetApp Provisioning Manager.
