Reservation Manager

In this release, Reservation Manager supports the following features:

AppLogic Platform

Support for CA AppLogic®, an application-centric turnkey cloud computing platform, is added.

Tenant Configuration

Additional configuration settings were added so that Super Administrators have more flexibility to customize the environment for each Tenant.

IBM PowerVM User Power Options

Users can control the power status of partitions without contacting the Administrator. When Administrators grant permissions, users can power on, shut down, and restart assigned partitions.

Storage Provisioning

Administrators can provision additional storage for Reservation Manager resource pools containing VMware resources in a single operation utilizing Storage Provisioning Manager for NetApp provisioning policies.

Mobile User Interface for Reservation Management

Coming soon, Administrators and users can manage basic reservation tasks in Reservation Manager using an Apple® iPhone® and iPad®. Features include viewing, canceling, and extending reservations, cost calculation, and use of templates. The mobile user interface also allows Administrators to reuse recent reservation configurations and to receive announcements about reservations. Contact Services for availability and the name to search in the application store.

Maintenance Mode

Administrators can now block end-user access to Reservation Manager when maintenance is performed.

Automatic Update of Job Status

Job status for reservations is now updated automatically without manual refresh.

Command Line Support for Listing Reservation Templates

A new dpmrm listtemplates command is added to list available reservation templates for a specified organizational unit.

Dynamic NIM Resources

When creating reservations for IBM Power VM partitions through Reservation Manager, administrators no longer have to create NIM resource configurations manually. NIM resources are dynamically created on the NIM Master server.
