User Interface

User interface navigation changed significantly in this release. The following highlights the navigation and feature changes:

Feature Availability

The user interface only displays features for installed components and integrations.

Search

A natural language Search feature is added for actions and resources. Search includes AutoComplete of search entries, and direct launch from Search results. You can also view events and performance on searched objects.

Dashboard

The Dashboard adds a Quick Launch panel for common system functions, and a Community Access panel with access to Provide Feedback and CA Support. A new Jobs pane lets jobs run in the background so that you can continue working.

Utilization Panels, Analytics Subtab

Utilization panels for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V are added to track parameters like CPU, RAM, and disk utilization. You can access the panels using the Dashboard, Analytics.

Resources

The user interface exposes the following resources: Data Center, services, servers, managed, and unmanaged. When you select a resource, you can right-click and get resource-specific menus. Context-based menus make many tabs unnecessary.

Customized Quick Start Menus

You can customize Quick Start menus to display specific commands.

Help, Bookshelf

You can select which help system location to use:

Online is the default. Offline is available for systems without web access.
