Message to a Remote Resource

In a multisystem environment, you might want a resource controlled by one region to react to activities in a resource controlled by another region. During operation, a resource can send a message to a remote resource, which can then react accordingly.

You can use the following command to send a message to a remote resource:

ROUTE link_name $RMEVENT CLASS=class_name
                         NAME=resource_name
                         MSG=‘message_text’

The remote resource must be defined in the remote system image, and that resource definition must contain a message rule to detect message_text.
