Search Tips
Use the following search methods and tips to improve your search results.
The search for CA Technologies bookshelves is a JavaScript search so that CA Technologies customers can download the bookshelf to their hard drives. Because of this, many special characters do not work in the Bookshelf search, no results are returned. If you are using a special character in your search string and getting no results, try the same search string but omit the special character.
Alternatively, you can use the search on the CA Support site to locate terms that include special characters.
Search for pages that contain AT LEAST ONE of the given search terms. The results will be sorted by the number of terms matched and the determined relevancy score. Click the "match any search words" radio button to enable this search option.
Search for pages that contain ALL of the given search terms. The results will be sorted by the number of terms matched and the determined relevancy score. Click the "match all search words" radio button to enable this search option.
Use the asterisk (*) and question mark (?) wildcard characters in your search terms to search for multiple words and return a larger set of results. An asterisk (*) in a search term represents any number of characters, while a question mark (?) represents any single character.
Wildcard searches let you perform advanced searches, for example "zoom*" returns all pages containing words beginning with "zoom." Similarly, "z??m" returns all pages containing four letter words beginning with "z" and ending with "m." Also, "*car*" would find any words containing the word "car."
Note: Wildcard searches may not work correctly on bookshelves in Asian languages.
Precede a search term with a hyphen (-) to exclude that search term from being included in your search results. For example, a search for "cat -dog" would return all pages containing the word "cat" but not the word "dog."
Note that some common words such as "the," "and," and "or" may be considered skip words and ignored by the search. This search behavior is configured by the website administrator.
Install Adobe Reader 7 or higher for best search results in PDF.
