Using SAML 1.x Assertions to Authenticate Users

Administrators at a Producer site determine how the Policy Server packages SAML assertions for delivery to a Consumer. The assertion document serves as credentials for authentication of the user.

An assertion is an XML document that contains the following information:

• Information about the Consumer
• Session information
• User attributes
