If you are migrating from r12.0, consider the following before beginning the migration.
SOA Security Manager r12.1 SP3 provides two graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for managing specific SOA Security Manager policy objects. Consider the following:
Use the Administrative UI to view, modify, and delete all Policy Server objects, except some objects required to generate WS-Security SAML tokens which are managed using the FSS Administrative UI.
The intent of the FSS Administrative UI is to let you manage federation-related features. If you are familiar with previous versions of the Policy Server User Interface, you will notice that all SOA Security Manager objects appear in the FSS Administrative UI. The only objects that do not appear are objects related to Enterprise Policy Management (EPM) and reports. You can use the FSS Administrative UI to manage the SOA Security Manager objects. If you need information while using the FSS Administrative UI, consult the FSS Administrative UI online help system.
If your organization is not generating WS-Security SAML tokens, use of the FSS Administrative UI is not required. Although part of the core Policy Server upgrade, the FSS Administrative UI must be registered with the Policy Server before it can be used. Registering the FSS Administrative UI is completed through the Administrative UI. Therefore, you are required to install and configure the Administrative UI before registering the FSS Administrative UI.
