Periodic Maintenance Tasks
Following is a list of tasks you can perform for general SOA Security Manager maintenance. The CA Services implementation team typically covers the details for these tasks, which are based on the specific environment:
- Apply operating system patches.
Frequency: monthly or as required
- Apply SOA Security Manager cumulative patches.
Frequency: monthly or as required
- Use the SOA Security Manager OneView Monitor, CA Wily, or an equivalent tool to monitor SOA Security Manager performance.
Frequency: continuous
- Use the appropriate tools to monitor the performance of the backend repositories.
Frequency: continuous
- Back up the backend repositories using native or SOA Security Manager tools.
Frequency: dependent on the requirements of your organization
- Maintain the backend repositories using native tools. Examples of this maintenance include the following:
- Indexing
- Backing up the transaction logs to reduce the consumption of disk space.
Frequency: dependent on the requirements of your organization
- Archive SOA Security Manager log files.
Frequency: dependent on the requirements of your organization
- Audit SOA Security Manager policies and adjust/optimize as required.
Frequency: dependent on the requirements of your organization
- Audit authentication and authorization failures. Escalate the events as required.
Frequency: continuous
