How to Run a Connector Job

To use the connector to poll or update endpoints, create a connector in the CA RCM portal. You can then run the connector job, or define a schedule that automatically runs the connector job at specified intervals.

You can run the CA Identity Manager connector job in the following two ways:

• From the CA RCM portal

  This is the recommended method that we describe in this chapter. You define and run a connector job from the Administration menu of the portal. This method provides the following advantages:

  • The job definition is saved on the portal, letting you repeat import and export tasks.
  • Retrieved data is integrated directly into the universe.
  • New data can be automatically synchronized with RACI definitions of the configuration.
  • New user records can be automatically enriched with data from Human Resources records or other sources.
• From CA RCM Data Management

  This method does not include the enhanced features of portal-based connector jobs mentioned previously.
