CA RCM Server Requirements

The following minimum requirements apply to the production platforms that host the CA RCM server and Workpoint server.

• Processor—Intel Core2 Quad 2.4 GHz 4 processors
• Memory—8-GB RAM
• Available disk space—80 GB
• A central database (RDBMS)—For a list of supported databases, see the CA RCM Compatibility Matrix that is available from the CA RCM product page on CA Support Online.

  Note: You do not need to install this central database on the same computer as CA RCM. For information about system requirements for your RDBMS, see the documentation for your product.

In addition, the CA RCM server must have the following software installed:

• (Optional) Active Directory—An enterprise user store that is used to manage access to the CA RCM server portal

  If you are not using an enterprise user store, CA RCM uses its own user store (the users database).

  Note: You do not need to install this user store on the same computer as CA RCM. For information about system requirements, see the Active Directory product documentation. For supported versions, see the CA RCM Compatibility Matrix that is available from the CA RCM product page on CA Support Online.

• Java Development Kit (JDK)—For a list of supported JDKs, see the CA RCM Compatibility Matrix that is available from the CA RCM product page on CA Support Online.

  On a Windows computer, add the pathname of this JDK instance to the PATH and JAVA_HOME environment variables. If necessary, create the JAVA_HOME variable.

• CA Identity Manager integration files—To support data exchange and other interactions with CA Identity Manager, you copy SDK and configuration files from the target CA Identity Manager computer to all computers hosting CA RCM components.

• (Optional) Microsoft SQL Native Client—Only required if you reference a remote SQL Server instance.
• (Optional) Oracle Client—Only required if you reference a remote Oracle Database instance.

  CA RCM makes use of the following Oracle Client components: Oracle Database Utilities, SQL *Plus, Oracle Objects for OLE, and Oracle Provider for OLE DB.
