Run a Test Catalog Synchronization

CA Repository for z/OS also provides an option that enables you to perform a test run of a catalog synchronization. The option works identically to the real CatSync with the exception that no changes are made to the repository.

To execute a test synchronization

1. Select OPTIONS.CATSYNC.SYNCTEST from the menu. CA Repository for z/OS, the Sync DB2 Catalog window appears.

   Note: If you want to narrow the list of catalog objects CatSync presents, use: OPTIONS.CATSYNC.SYNCTEST Q.

2. Follow the catalog synchronization procedure described later in this chapter.

   If you decide to generate a real catalog synchronization after viewing the results of the test synchronization, make sure to save the DBXCATG file.
