Event Writers

Event writers specify what CA SDM should do when it detects an important event from the network. The event writer uses converted events (events using the generic event data structure) from an event source and events that have passed through a filter to create requests.

Using event writers, you can do the following:

• Identify the type of event received from an event source
• Specify the action to perform when the event writer receives events of this type. Valid actions include:
  • Creating requests
  • Updating existing requests
  • Executing a command
• Indicate whether logging occurs
