How to Define the Business Structure

Business structure is a logical representation of the organization within which CA SDM operates. To customize your installation, you can set up the business structure objects to best suit your needs.

You set up the following objects to define the business structure:

The following diagram illustrates the relationship between the objects in the business structure:

An organization has a location. A location has a site.

Because an organization has (references) a location, which in turn has a site, you must define the objects in the following sequence:

  1. Sites
  2. Locations
  3. Organizations

This way, when defining each object, you can select from existing objects at lower levels in the hierarchy.

Note: For more information about how to define each object, see the Online Help.
