Change Management in CA SDM

CA SDM Change Management is a set of features for Change Managers, Change Coordinators, and Change Advisory Board (CAB) members to coordinate the review and approval of change requests for CI components and services. For example, Change Managers can review and approve all changes to CI components and services to ensure that no new security vulnerabilities are introduced into the production environment. The Change Manager leads the CAB and is responsible for the ultimate approval of change requests.

Change Management includes the following functions:

• Follow ITIL processes relating IT changes to Incident/Problem management.
• View Service Management information for a CI; for example, the number of changes logged on a CI, change implementation dates, and more.
• Detect collisions when multiple change orders call for changes to the same CIs at the same time.
• Create and store change windows in the Change Calendar.
• Create a change order in calendar view.
• Assess the risks associated with a change.
