This argument specifies the message text. Message rules usually do not use the messagetext argument; instead, those rules use the text of the message that caused the message rule to execute as that message text was originally issued.
Note: If the MSG.TEXT variable has never been modified, the value of messagetext defaults to the value the MSG.TEXT variable contained upon entry to the current rule.
Rules other than message rules using the OPSSEND function must include the messagetext argument.
If the message ID changes, this influences AOF processing on the receiving system if the option argument has the value A or W. The message is rescanned at the receiving end to re-extract the message ID, except for a few exotic messages (such as JES3 BDT) that cannot be rescanned outside their usual issuing environment. When you have such messages, reformat them and place their message IDs (taken from the MSG.ID field) in their revised message text.
