AOF INDEX—Return Rules Data Set Information

This command allows an OPS/REXX program to find the rules CA OPS/MVS is currently using on your production system.

This command has the following format:

ADDRESS AOF "INDEX keywords"
  [SYSTEM(ALL|EXT|sysnames)]
  [SYSWAIT(seconds)]
  [OUTPUT|NOOUTPUT]

The INDEX command produces these results:

• The INDEX command returns information about the rules data set that CA OPS/MVS is using. It always returns a minimum of two words.
• The first word returned by INDEX contains prefix.*.suffix, where prefix is the current setting of the RULEPREFIX parameter, suffix is the current setting of the RULESUFFIX parameter, and .*. is a literal place holder. This word describes the data set names that CA OPS/MVS will search to find rules.
• The second word returned by INDEX is always SINGLE or MULTIPLE. If the parameter RULEALTFIX is set to a non-blank value, the word is MULTIPLE. If RULEPREFIX2 is specified, the word is MULTS, and a third word exists that is similar to the first word, but instead of RULEPREFIX, RULEPREFIX2 is used to create the prefix2.*.suffix string.

  In most installations, RULEALTFIX and RULEPREFIX2 are unset, and the second word returned by INDEX is SINGLE.

• If the command executes successfully, the RC value is set to zero. Unless the NOOUTPUT keyword has been explicitly or implicitly specified, the external data queue contains the output string, described above.
