Using SSM Global Application › How SSMGA Works › Moving Resources
Moving Resources
Preventing duplicate starts of the resources when eligible systems fail or are restarted requires special handling of the movable resources by SSMGA; such as:
- Lets resource ownership take place after every eligible system knows the status of the movable resource in the SSMplex.
- Replicates movable resource definitions, rules, and action table actions on all systems on which the resource can run.
- Determines if a resource is active on the system by using the global event exit for LST processing.
- Continuous updating of the statuses of the inactive copies by the global system.
- When no system owns the resource, the global system assigns the resource to the first available system in the eligible system list or waits for a specific system to join or rejoin the SSMplex.
