In developing standard REXX, IBM designed understandable error messages. Because OPS/REXX is so similar to standard REXX, we have adopted these well-thought-out error messages for our product. The Cowlishaw book describes messages with error codes up to 49. The CA OPS/MVS online message documentation describes errors with higher codes.
