Documentation Changes

The following updates have been made to the Administration Guide since the CA Network Flow Analysis 9.0.1 release:

• Product name (ReporterAnalyzer) has been updated to CA Network Flow Analysis.
• Terminology and wording has been aligned with i18n guidelines.
• Graphics have been streamlined.
• Topics have been revised to reflect the two-tier architecture, which is used in this release. (DSAs are not active in the two-tier architecture.)
• Section 1, Introducing CA Network Flow Analysis: Added an introduction and Third Party Acknowledgment and License Agreements; updated Related Documentation.
• Section 2, Initial Configuration:
  • Configure CA Network Flow Analysis to Work with CA Performance Center: Added this largely new 46-page section to describe everything you have to do to get started working with CA Performance Center. Covers registering, creating SNMP profiles, creating IP domains, configuring flow collection by adding Harvesters and setting up flow export, verifying that CA Network Flow Analysis is receiving data, changing the domain of interfaces and CVIs, setting up user accounts and assigning permissions, adding role rights for users, creating custom groups, and results of unregistering.
  • Configure Custom Virtual Interfaces: How to Configure Custom Virtual Interfaces: Revised slightly.
  • Set Up Packet Cloning: Deleted for this release.
  • Complete Post-Installation Tasks: Revised.
• Section 3, Administering CA Network Flow Analysis:
  • Administration Page: Updated.
  • View Physical and Virtual Interfaces: Expanded and revised slightly.

    Search for a Router, Interface, or CVI: Revised to include domain notes.

  • Work with Harvesters: Added Add Harvesters and Edit Harvester Details.
• Section 4, Customizing CA Network Flow Analysis:
  • Label ToS Values: Added domain note.
  • Create and Manage ToS Groups: Added domain notes to Create ToS Groups, Change the Contents of ToS Groups, and Delete ToS Groups.
  • Create Time Filters: Updated with i18n-compliant options.
• Section 5, Maintaining CA Network Flow Analysis:
  • Create Traps: Added detailed steps for each type of trap: Utilization, Rate, Volume, and Flow.
  • How to Set Up Traps to Work with External Fault Management Tools:

    Expire Stale Addresses: Added domain information.

  • Service Management, Service Log Files, and subtopics: Updated services, logs, and other information.
• Section 6, Performing Advanced Administration:
  • Map Applications:

    Mapping Priorities: Revised slightly.

    Added rule-specific topics: Create a Subnet Application Mapping Rule, Create a Host Application Mapping Rule, and Create an All (ToS) Application Mapping Rule.

  • Work with Reserved Seating: Edit Reserved Seating Rules and Delete Reserved Seating Rules: Revised slightly.

  • How Data Is Collected: Expanded and updated for two-tier architecture.
  • Database Locations: Updated.
