Define UNIX Authorization for Your Started Task User IDs

The product region requires access to sockets interfaces and therefore requires UNIX System Services authorization provided by an OMVS segment security definition.

For the Packet Analyzer and UNIX functions, the SOLVE SSI region requires UNIX System Services authorization provided by an OMVS segment security definition.

Note: If you want to monitor VIPAs without the use of system commands (see Release Notes), assign UID(0) to the SOLVE SSI user ID. (Using BPX.SUPERUSER is not sufficient.)

Set UNIX System Services authorization for the following:

• The product region's started task user ID
• The SOLVE SSI region's started task user ID
